Overview
View Deployments allows Shield Admins to begin new deployments for the current Shield organization and review their history. It also provides all details about the success of the deployment process via statuses and a log.
Use Manage Customers or Manage Organizations to add new organizations to Shield.
For administrators, partners, or their customers migrating from CloudFilter with Microsoft 365 to Shield, please review Deploy Shield to an Organization.
View Deployments
Deployment logs are displayed along with the status of full installs, full uninstalls, user enrollments referred to as enablements, or health checks of the Shield organization. Any running deployments can be viewed in real time by clicking on the deployment name or status.
Deployment Types
The Deployments page shows the type of deployment performed on a Shield organization, the target organization, and the deployment's status. Types of deployments available from the View Deployments page are:
- Full Install. This includes the status of all steps of deploying Shield to the Microsoft 365 tenant of the Shield organization.
- Full Uninstall. This is the deployment that runs when the Deactivate button at the bottom of the Shield organization page is clicked and instructions for deactivation are followed. Full Uninstall shows the status of all steps to deactivate Shield in the Microsoft 365 tenant for the Shield organization.
- User Enablement Install. Each user present in the Microsoft 365 tenant at the time of Shield deployment must be manually enrolled to Shield via the Add or Remove Products page. The status of their enrollment is captured in the User Enablement Install deployment. Upgrading a user from Shield to Shield Pro or removing a product from a user is also captured in the User Enablement Install deployment.
- Any Health Check repairs. The full list of possible Health Check repairs is equivalent to the total of each section and step listed under View Health.
Run Deployment
Click on Run Deployment to finish a failed deployment of the current organization or rerun a Full Install of Shield. To deploy Shield to an organization, please follow the Get Started instructions in Deployment Control.
Review a Deployment
Click on any deployment to review the contents. The status and details of each deployment step will be shown. A log is provided that reports any issues during the deployment which can be corrected in real time. Use deployment error messages to resolve issues in the Microsoft 365 tenant. Any deployment step displaying an error will retry for a period of time but will eventually fail if the issue is not corrected. If the deployment fails before an issue is resolved, click Run Deployment to rerun the failed deployment.
