Trust Network Decisions for New, Trusted, and Silenced Senders

Description

Shield is a zero-trust email security solution. Each Shield user has their own individual network of trusted senders that begins building on day one. Over time, users can add more trusted senders to their Trust Network and customize Risk Levels per sender. This article covers mailbox interactions and Shield Portal interactions for new senders as well as for trusted and silenced senders.

Mailbox Interactions

Focused Inbox Actions

By default, the New Outlook Client is preset with a Focused Inbox. Mail sorts between the Focused and Other tabs within the Inbox. Microsoft provides more information about the Focused Inbox.

The Bundled folder is available to Shield Pro: Bundler users.

For new senders, trust decisions may also be made via New Sender banners, Email Security Briefings, and the Trust Network. For previously trusted or silenced senders, trust decisions may also be made via the Trust Network.

For fully licensed users: Because Shield factors in the sender's trust and insights into the individual message, the Trust Network cannot override moderate or high-risk message delivery locations.

For shared mailboxes: the Trust Network is not a factor in determining delivery of a message. See Shared Mailboxes in Shield for more information about mail delivery for shared mailboxes.

Shield Portal Interactions

Choosing the following actions from within the Shield portal results in the following Trust Network delivery actions:

Trust Decision Delivery Selection Delivery Action
Trust Deliver Immediately Continue delivering messages from the sender to the Inbox
Trust Bundled Bundle messages from the sender with other bundled messages; remind user periodically to check the Bundled folder
Silence Send to Junk Continue receiving messages from the sender to the Junk folder
Silence Send to Jail Move the message to Jail in the Portal; no further messages are delivered to the mail client
Silence Send to Trash Continue receiving messages from the sender to the Deleted Items folder (Trash)
Silence Send to Archived Continue receiving messages from the sender to the Archive folder

The Bundled folder is available to Shield Pro: Bundler users.

Because Shield factors in the sender's trust and insights into the individual message, the Trust Network cannot override moderate or high-risk message delivery locations.
