Configuring an enforced TLS connection from Mailprotector's inbound relay

Overview

This article will describe how to configure an enforced TLS connection to a specific domain or group of domains using Mailprotector's Cloudfilter service.

This configuration will not work for a domain or user group that includes Bracket.

Configuring message rules to enforce a TLS connection to a domain

To configure an enforced TLS connection, you will:

  1. Navigate to the Mailprotector Console at emailservice.io
  2. Go to the domain requiring the TLS-encrypted connection rule
  3. Navigate to the "Filtering" tab for that domain
  4. Navigate to the "Message Rules" section under the "Filtering" tab

  5. Ensure that the Create direction says "incoming" then input a name and click the "Create" button to begin making the rule

  6. Under the "Criteria" section, input the domain you wish to send to via TLS connection in the "From" field in the "Matches any of:" section. Entering information into the Matches any of field will enable the From criterion.

  7. Scroll to the bottom of the Criteria page to locate the TLS section. Choose "Match on a connection using TLS" which will enable TLS Connection.

  8. Under the Actions section, toggle on the option to "Never hold the message for review (inbound only)"

  9. Click the back arrow in the top left-hand corner to finish creating the rulemceclip8.png

  10. The rule will appear as disabled in the "Incoming" section of the rules. You will need to toggle it on for it to be an active rule.
