Description
An email signature service is a tool or platform that helps create, manage, and standardize email signatures across an organization. These services ensure that every employee’s email signature is consistent, professional, and often includes branding elements like logos, social media links, legal disclaimers, or promotional banners.
If a third-party signature service is present in a Microsoft tenant, Shield's default outbound connectors and transport rules will take priority and prevent those signature services from being able to perform an action on any messages.
We recommend adding these signature services' exclusion criteria from their transport rules to the "Shield - Send to Outpost" transport rule to prevent this.
This will ensure messages are not sent outbound through Shield until a message has been processed by the signature service in the tenant regardless of transport rule priority and will result in the routing provided below.
Example Connector Modifications
This article offers how CodeTwo and Exclaimer Cloud signature service transport rules can be incorporated into the Shield - Send to Outpost transport rule, but the content may differ for you. If you are using a different signature service or see different criteria please modify the transport rule with the settings for that service's transport rule and do not modify any of the Shield criteria.
