Description
This step ensures that activation goes quickly and smoothly and that Shield works as designed in the domain's environment. If all steps are completed properly and you have waited at least 24 hours for all changes to propagate, then you are ready to deploy Shield to your first organization.
Shield is compatible with Microsoft 365 tenant domains only.
Shield is not compatible with GoDaddy's Microsoft 365 (M365) offering. GoDaddy provides a restricted, locked-down M365 experience that limits full administrative access to the tenant. As such, we cannot support M365 on GoDaddy at this time. We recommend that partners assist their clients in defederating their domain from GoDaddy and implementing M365 directly or through a distributor such as PAX8 or Sherweb. If you're unfamiliar with the defederation process, we suggest contacting PAX8 or Sherweb for further guidance.
Pre-flight Checklist
Ensure that you have performed all pre-flight deployment steps before creating the new Shield organization. If you have not completed all pre-flight items and have not waited at least 24 hours for all changes to propagate, you are not ready to activate your organization in Shield.
Choose the appropriate pre-flight steps for your use case:
- Partner not-for-resale (NFR) domain
- Customer domain
- Existing CloudFilter Domain Onboarding
Start Shield Activation
After completing all pre-flight checklist items, follow these steps:
- Sign in to the Mailprotector Console with your Reseller level Manager account (Figure 1).

Click on the Shield tab then click on Activate Shield (Figure 2).
If you do not see a Shield tab please contact Support to set your reseller domain as the Not-for-Resale domain.
- The Shield Activation screen will appear; click on Sign in with Microsoft.

You are now ready to continue to Deploy Shield.
