Create and Manage Content & Policy Rules

 

To create a new "Content & Policy" rule, login to the Mailprotector console (https://console.mailprotector.com). Select "domains" from either the top of the page or the menu tree down the right hand side of the page.

Click on the domain name you wish to manage content filter rules for. 

Select "Content & Policy" from the menu at the top of the page, or down the right hand side of the page.

  You can choose from one of the content rule templates from the "Explicit Language" or "Sensitive data" tabs or create a custom content filter rule by clicking the “Custom” tab.

 To add an outbound or inbound content filter rule,

1) click the “Add inbound” or “Add outbound” button.

2) Give the rule a name.

3) select the message criteria from the drop down menus.

4) enter the words or phrases you want the rule to act on.

5) Click the “Add” button.

 6) Next, select whether you want the rule to act if “all” of the criteria are met or if “any” of the criteria are met. “THEN” select the action taken on messages matching the rules criteria:

Send to policy quarantine

Send to spam quarantine

Or,

“Deliver, but also do this. . .” and configure the extra actions to take by entering text you want added to the subject line, message header, or footer of the message, or deliver the message and CC or BCC the message to an alternate address.

 

Be sure to click the "Save" button when you've finished setting up the rule.
